As much as I love makeup, I am still sometimes perplexed by what my younger sister is drawn to.  I can’t tell you how many times I have tried to rip the black eyeliner out of her hands (really, black rimmed eyes is not everyday wear).

But, it’s the holidays and in the spirit of giving I wanted to find her the perfect makeup kit.   That is why I turned to Urban Decay.  I can always count on this line for funky, fun makeup kits.  I have always been a fan of their 24/7 eyeliners  (Corrupt is my personal favorite) and their makeup kits are just as terrific.

For the holidays they have over 21 makeup sets.  Quite impressive.  My favorite so far is the Show Pony Shadow Box.  This little palette is illustrated front and back by Kime Buzzelli, from the LA art scene.  Urban Decay says that Kime was their inspiration for the palette and states:

“Kime’s paintings feature wickedly fashionable women… often with brightly colored makeup running down their cheeks. Inspired by these characters, we’ve filled our palette with 6 shadows.”

The shades range from bright and shimmery, to soft and neutral.
The kit includes:

– Snatch: peachy-pink w/glitter
– Mildew: deep green
– Flash: electric purple
– Painkiller: turquoise shimmer
– Smog: deep bronze
– Toasted: copper
– 24/7 Eye Pencil in Zero (black)
– Eyeshadow Primer Potion
Makeup Artist Tips:  You can use any of the brighter colors (Flash, Painkiller)  over the black eyeliner to create a funky holiday eye look.  Or, use Mildew on the outer corner of your eye to enhance your normal neutral eye look.
