In honor of my favorite TV show of all time, I must devote a post to my four favorite girls: Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte, and Miranda!
I have been loving all the pictures from the movie that I have seen and thought that I would review some of the looks from the upcoming movie. My own wonderful girlfriends and I are all going out this weekend to celebrate the opening, so I thought I would get a head start on the festivities…first up, Carrie. If we all could look as fabulous (and get Mr. Big as well!)
The look seems to be all about soft lilacs.
- For the eyes I suggest NARS Charade eyeshadow palate of plums and mauves.
- For the lips you can get an almost exact match with MAC lipglass in Cultured
- For the cheeks, a soft pink will compliment the eyes: Try Cargo in Catalina
I have always loved Samantha’s frankness and loyalty to the girls. I found this look and absolutely loved the heavy eyes, sculpted checks, and soft lips. Powerful yet soft!
These dramatic eyes definitely require some lashes. My personal technique is to cut the strips in half. Focus the lashes to the outer edges of your eyelash, as they are too dramatic when used as the whole strip. I prefer to use the dark adhesive, but the clear will work just fine as well. Illamasqua false eyelashes are amazing. For a soft cheek and a contoured look, Make Up Forever contour palettes makes some wonderful contour and highlight powders. I prefer these because the contour shade is not too brown (quite a nice peach tone) and the highlight powder is comes with is soft enough for everyday use. You can even blend the two powders for a beautiful neutral blush. A soft pink shimmer on the lips you cannot fail with Bobbi Brown Sand Pink Shimmer Lipstick. This lip color is the perfect pinky peach with gold undertones and look great on everyone. Kissable!
Lastly, my two favorites…Charlotte and Miranda.
For Miranda’s look, I would focus on the eyes. Throughout the movie she had an amazing burnished gold glaze on her eyelids. I would suggest Victoria Secrets Dazzling Liquid Shadow in Spark. Top it off with a few coats of black mascara and your set!
As for Charlotte, I would focus on the cheeks and the lips. Her look is very fresh and all pink. For this I would stick with Bobbi Brown Cosmetics in Pale Pink. Her makeup for brides will give you the exact look of Charlotte…classy, clean, and innocent.
