With all the talk lately about Lindsay Lohan’s yellow tinted teeth, I got to thinking about how much your smile makes an impact to others. I have tried countless ways to brighten my choppers, and am constantly on the lookout for a way to make teeth sparkle. Let’s face it, I want people to be noticing my radiant smile, not my dingy teeth!
The good news is the market for teeth whitening products seems to be constantly expanding, as people learn newer and better ways to keep their smiles shining. This is actually a major concern for a lot of people, as many of the foods and drinks we consume on a regular basis stain our teeth and keep us from having the white smiles that we want. So, it is a good thing for many people that there are so many tools, kits and methods for teeth whitening.
On top of making sure you get yourself in a dentist’s chair, here is a bit of information on some of the leading products and methods for teeth whitening.
• One interesting thing that a lot of people swear by for teeth whitening is citrus fruit. Specifically, lemon juice is said to be very helpful in the whitening process, as a natural remedy to yellow, or stained teeth. In fact, even chewing on a lemon peel is supposed to help clean the teeth. At the very least, you have nothing to lose by trying this.
• The other most popular natural solution for teeth whitening is baking soda. While it can be somewhat unpleasant to brush purely with baking soda, this is a substance that is proven to whiten teeth, and brushing with it can be a great help. You can also mix baking soda with other things (such as lemon juice!) to make it a bit more pleasant in your mouth.
• There are a number of different companies that offer store products for teeth whitening, many of which are quite effective. Many operate as small wands for the application of light fluid that sits on your teeth and works to whiten them after application. So, if you are looking for a high tech option, this could be the way to go!
• Another popular option is over the counter teeth whitening products that can be purchased at the drugstore. This option usually consists of a thin plastic mold that can fit onto your teeth, which is worn between 15 and 30 minutes. I have used this method before, and pop in the trays while doing work on my computer. Generally, you are not supposed to eat or drink for a bit following use of these products, and they should be fairly effective.
