Kate Winslet’s 2010 Academy Awards hair and makeup look was so soft, classic and beautiful…almost otherworldly. Kate’s long-time makeup artist, Jillian Dempsey, created the look with soft, ethereal makeup, giving both the eyes and lips equal attention on this Oscar winner. Keep reading for a breakdown of the Oscar winner’s red-carpet hair and makeup look.
Kate’s skin was prepped with Lancôme Photôgenic Lumessence Foundation and set with Lancôme Dual Finish Powder Foundation. Jillian set primed Kate’s skin with Avon MagiX Face Perfector SPF 20 and added a pop of pink blush with Shu Uemura Blush in Pink 30 to give just a hint of a natural flush.
The eyes were highlighted with Avon True Color Eyeshadow Quad in Blushing Raisins, a collection of shimmering, champagne-pewter shades. Jillian then lined Kate’s eyes with Jillian Dempsey for Avon Professional Kohl Eyeliner in Black, and saturated her lashes with Lancôme Hypnôse Drama Mascara in Excessive Black, giving them extra definition. The brows were defined with Lancôme Brow Expert in Naturel.
Jillian topped off the look with nude-pink lips, prepping Kate’s pout with Lancôme L’Absolu Rouge in Rich Cashmere and adding a bit of shine with Lancôme Color Fever Gloss in Hotness.
To get Kate’s classic, Veronica Lake waves, start by applying Fekkai Coiff Strong Hold Volume Mousse mixed with the Fekkai Coiff Perfector Anti-Frizz Silkening Crème from roots to ends. Make a side part and blow dry the hair with Fekkai Large Round Brush, pinning it in place as the hair cools down. Next, use a 1″ curling iron to create soft, loose waves. Finish with Fekkai Sheer Hold Hairspray.
