I think I have about 4 different lip balms in my purse, and yet I have never quite gotten into the tinted lip balm craze. Don’t get me wrong, I keep an assortment of stunning tinted lip balms in my professional kit, and use them often. Yet, I’ve never used them personally…..until now.
While on a photo shoot this weekend, I applied a natural, rosy lip to a 15 year old model and enjoyed the look so much that I decided to replicate it on myself (I was feeling quite blah, and wanted a perk-me-up!). I dabbed on Benefit Benetint Lip Balm Spf 15, and I was shocked at how pretty it looked. The color is a sheer wash of rose loveliness, and instantly lit up my face. Even my cheeks looked rosier. This lip balm is a creamy, emollient version of Benefit cosmetics famous Benetint cheek and lip stain, and not only lives up to its predecessor, but in my opinion, trumps it. The color left a soft stain on my lips, and gave a subtle sheen.
I am going to have to buy another jar for my kit, because my current jar is now permanently in my purse.
Makeup Artist Tip: For a richer application, fill in your lip with a soft nude lipliner (Benefit makes three amazing nude lipliners) before applying the lip balm. You will get a deeper rose hue, have the consistency of a lipstick and still keep the buttery hydration of the balm!
